Gainesville’s Main Street Marketplace
Main Street, Gainesville
Descriptions Built in 1886, newly opened in December 2002, this open air market offers an array of distinctive shops with local artist’s paintings and sculptures on the walls and in the atrium. There is a fresh Cajun seafood market, heirloom baby shop, boudoir boutique, fried flower retailer, skateboard shop and fudge shop. This market is a must see on the historic square, and they also offer art lessons! Coming soon is an aquarium shop and a dance club. When the tornado came in 1936, many people died.
